W. Basketball - No. 10 JCCC downs No. 7 Labette 50-47

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The 10th ranked Johnson County Community College women’s basketball team bounced back from a 43-point loss to No. 3 Highland Community College by upsetting No. 7 Labette Community College 50-47 Wednesday night in Parsons, Kan.

The Lady Cavaliers held Labette to just 25 percent shooting and outrebounded the Lady Cardinals by 18, helping them improve to 18-5 on the season and 2-1 in conference play.

Sophomore guard Tristen McFeders was the only Lady Cavalier to finish in double figures. She tallied 10 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. 

Freshman Juella Brown made her second straight start at center, and put together an impressive effort. She finished with nine points and pulled down 11 rebounds, matching he season high.

Freshman Sydney Jones came in off the bench and contributed eight points, and Cerena Reeves, Kylee Williams and Dachelle Terry each finished with six points.

Johnson County continues conference play this Saturday when they host Fort Scott Community College at 2 p.m.
