M Soccer - JCCC athletes earn conference weekly honors

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County Community College swept the week one men’s soccer player and goalkeeper of the week honors for the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference. Freshman forward Axxel Charazo was chosen Player of the Week, and freshman Pedro Henrique Ivaskoski was the goalkeeper of the week.

Chazaro scored a goal in each of the Cavaliers first three games of the 2018 season. He scored a goal and provided the game-winning assist in an overtime win against Crowder, Aug. 22. He netted JCCC’s lone goal in an overtime loss at Jefferson, Aug. 25, and had JCCC’s second goal in a 3-0 win at Southwestern Illinois, Aug. 26. He fired 12 shots, six goal and finished with seven points on the week. 

Ivaskoski went 2-1-0 with a shutout last week. He also stopped 22 of 25 shots on goal for a save percentage of .880. He had 11 saves in an impressive collegiate debut, a 2-1 overtime win against Crowder. He earned his first shutout saving all three shots he faced in 3-0 win at Southwestern Illinois.
