M. Basketball - Cavaliers use 3-ball to down KCKCC 79-72

OVERLAND PARK, Kan.  – Johnson County Community College guards Anthony Lupardus, Berlin Roberson and Mat Baldeh put on a 3-point shooting clinic to lead the Cavaliers to a 79-72 win at Kansas City Kansas Community College Saturday afternoon, and extend the team’s winning streak to 10 in a row.

The three sharpshooters combined to hit 15-of-26 behind the arch, while the Blue Devils were just 3-of-13 for the game.

Lupardus finished with a game-high 24 points to go along with four rebounds, six assists and two steals. Roberson and Baldeh each contributed 18 points.

Tied at 35-35 at halftime, the Cavaliers used four 3-point field goals for a 12-5 run to open the second half, and later in the half again put together four consecutive 3-pointers to turn back a KCKCC run.

Johnson County looks to improve to 6-0 in conference play on Wednesday night when they host Highland Community College. The Scotties are currently in second place at 4-1. JCCC edged Highland 72-70 earlier this season at Highland.
