M. Basketball - Cavaliers take over sole possession of first place

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County Community College is alone in on top of the conference standings. The Cavaliers won for the 12th straight time and moved to 4-0 in conference with a 78-68 victory over Fort Scott Community College on Saturday afternoon.

Johnson County raced out to a big lead in the first half, then hung one in the second half to get the 11-point win and take over sole possession of first place in the conference.

Freshman forward Xavier Womack posted a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds, and sophomore leader Anthony Lupardus poured in 20 points with six assist to the power the Cavaliers offense.

Sophomore Mat Baldeh came in off the bench to contribute 11 points.

Johnson County (12-12, 4-0) will host Hesston College on Wednesday, Feb. 7, and closes out the week with a conference match up at Kansas City Kansas on Saturday, Feb. 10.
