M. Basketball - Cavaliers dominate Labette 109-77

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Berlin Roberson and Anthony Lupardus combined for 63 points, and Xavier Womack notched his sixth double-double of the season to power Johnson County Community College to a dominating win over Labette Community College, 109-77. The win pushed their current winning streak to seven straight.

The Cavaliers took control early and built a 20-point cushion at the break, 53-33. Johnson County shot 61 percent from the field and from 3-point range, and they out rebounded the Cardinals 50-to-25.

Roberson led the Cavaliers with a season-high 32 points. He was 8-of-15 shooting, including 6-of-9 from 3-point range, and was a perfect 10-of-10 at the line. He also had five assists and four rebounds.

Lupardus was just one back with 31 points. He hit 9-of-10 shots, including 6-of-7 long rang jumpers, and he made 7-of-8 at the line. He also had eight rebounds, three assists and two steals. Lupardus also moved past the 1,000-point mark in his career with his big night. He now has 1,008 points.

Womack contributed 19 points and 12 rebounds, 11 on the defensive end.

Johnson County will go for its eighth straight victory on Saturday afternoon when the host Fort Scott Community College. Opening tip is scheduled for 4 p.m.
