Cross Country - McRoberts wins Cavalier Cup

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County Community College sophomore Kyle McRoberts topped the small field of 19 runners at the Cavalier Cup on Friday, Sept. 8, finishing the 5k course in 16:40.6. It was his first medalist win as a collegiate runner.

Sophomore Souleymane Adam crossed the line in fifth place with a time of 17:01.9. JCCC’s two other runners managed top 10 efforts as well. Sophomore Brendan McRoberts was seventh with a time of 17:06.5, and freshman Trey Seaba was spot back in eighth with a time of 17:24.0.

On the women’s side, sophomores Yulissa DelaTorre and Jessalyn Rivet-Tissot finished eighth and ninth overall. DelaTorre finished the 5k course in 21:18.8, and Rivet-Tissot came through in 21:27.2

Rounding out the Lady Cavaliers were freshman Emma Stimatze (13th – 24:31.7); freshman Jaciinta King (17th – 25:51.7) and freshman Mikayla Lisher (30:50.2).
