Volleyball - JCCC sweeps No. 20 Neosho County

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Johnson County Community College volleyball team extended its season-long win streak to six straight after sweeping No. 20 Neosho County Community College Wednesday at JCCC Gymnasium.  The Lady Cavaliers won by the scores of 26-24, 25-23 and 25-13. With the win, Johnson County pulls even at 11-11 overall, and improve to 4-2 in conference play.

Sophomores Meghan Tauke and Cate Stambaugh powered JCCC’s attack. Tauke tallied 13 kills, and Stambuagh added 10. Both hitters finished with a kill percentage of .429.

Torey Burkhardt led JCCC with 19 digs, followed by Bre Kamaka with 14 and Jade Askren with 11. Askren also led the offense with 27 assists. Tanner Wallace contributed 16 assists in the victory.

Johnson County travels to Council Bluffs, Iowa this weekend to take on Iowa Western Community College, the third-ranked team in NJCAA Division I.
