W. Basketball - JCCC opens season with 93-30 win over Bethel JV

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The No. 2 ranked Johnson County Community College women’s basketball team built a 49-9 lead at halftime and then breezed to an easy 93-30 victory over Bethel College JV Wednesday night in their season opener.

Graceland University transfer Tristen McFeders led all players with 19 points. She also had eight rebounds, three steals and two assists.

Freshmen Jacionna Stowers and Dachelle Terry came in off the bench to scored 17 and 14 points respectively while shooting a combined 12-for-16 from the field and 7-of-10 from 3-point range.

Also in double figures were sophomore Kylee Williams and freshman Pagie Elston, each finishing with 11 points.  Elston led the team with eight assists.

The top rebounder was sophomore Ida Pieschl with 10 boards. She also chipped in eight points.

Johnson County will play two more times this week. They host cross-town rival MCC-Penn Valley on Friday evening, followed by a Saturday afternoon home match against North Central Missouri College.
