JCCC features free summer movies and World Cup viewing events

OVERLAND PARK, Kan.— The Performing Arts Series of Johnson County Community College will bring free classic movies and the 2014 FIFA World Cup games to the big screen in Yardley Hall of the Carlsen Center this summer.

The movies, classic musicals and comedies, will be shown at 7 p.m. Wednesdays, June 4 to July 2.

Here is the schedule:

  • June 4 - “The Wizard of Oz” (1939, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, 75th Anniversary) Starring Judy Garland
  • June 11 - “Little Shop of Horrors”, Rated PG- 13, (1986, Warner Brothers Entertainment) Starring Rick Moranis, Steve Martin and James Belushi
  • June 25 - “Dr. Strangelove” (1964, Columbia Pictures, 50th Anniversary) Starring Peter Sellers and George C. Scott
  • July 2 - “The Pink Panther” (1963, United Artists) Starring Peter Sellers, David Niven and Robert Wagner

These events are open to the public. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. No tickets or reservations are required.
