W. Basketball – O'Neal and Kendall named WBCA All-American

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County Community College sophomore guards Timeka O'Neal and Sameia Kendall were recently named to the 2014 WBCA Junior/Community College Coaches' Association All-America team. Both earned honorable mention honors. They are the eighth and ninth players in JCCC history to earn WBCA All-America accolades. The pair helped the Lady Cavaliers to a 30-2 record, a No. 2 final season ranking, and a third straight conference title.

O'Neal averaged 11.7 points, 3.8 rebounds and a team-best 5.1 assists per game. Her 5.1 assists per game average ranked tied for 22nd in the NJCAA. O’Neal also finished ninth nationally with an assist-to-turnover ratio of 3.0. She also earned first-team East Jayhawk D-II All-Conference and All-Region VI D-II first-team.

O’Neal closed out her career ranked seventh on JCCC’s all-time assist chart with 284, 11th all-time with 105 3-point field goals, tied for fourth all-time with a .796 career free throw percentage and 26th with 695 career points.

Kendall led the team with an average of 12.0 points per game. She also averaged 3.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.1 steals per game. Kendall also earned first-team East Jayhawk D-II All-Conference and All-Region VI D-II honorable mention.

Kendall leaves JCCC ranked 36th in career scoring with 610 points, and 12th all-time in 3-point accuracy at .376.
