W. Basketball – Nationally ranked teams to square off

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – A pair of top-ranked women’s basketball team will battle Wednesday night, at JCCC Gymnasium. The No. 2 ranked Lady Cavaliers host No. 8 ranked Kansas City Kansas Community College at 5:30 p.m. 

Johnson County enters the contest with a perfect 19-0 record, and l will attempt to extend its home court winning streak to 46 straight games.  The Lady Cavaliers have four players averaging double figures in scoring, led by sophomore guard Sameia Kendall with a 14.0 points per game average. Also averaging double figures are Timeka O’Neal (11.9), Juanita Robinson (10.9) and Nieka Wheeler (10.1). 

Kansas City Kansas is having its best season since advancing to national in 1997. The Blue Devils are 18-2 overall, and led by guards Rashaun Casey (12.7 ppg.) and Samantha Hurst (12.6 ppg.).
