W. Basketball – Lady Cavaliers post 17 straight wins

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The No. 2 ranked Johnson County Community College women’s basketball team used a balanced scoring attack and suffocating defense in an 80-37 win at Southeast Community College, Saturday night. The victory also kept the Lady Cavaliers perfect at 17-0.

Sophomore guard Sameia Kendall returned to action after resting a minor injury, and led JCCC with 12 points. She was 4-of-8 from the field, including a three-pointer, and was 3-of-3 at the line. She also had four rebounds, seven assists and two steals.

Sophomores Juanita Robinson and Camille Gee each followed with 11 points, and Allison Wallisch finished with 10 points and seven boards.

JCCC held Southeast to just 26 percent shooting and outrebounded the Storm 62-31.

Johnson County will make its first appearance at home in 32 days when they host North Central Missouri College, Jan. 15.
