W. Basketball – Lady Cavaliers take over top spot in D-II

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Johnson County Community College women’s basketball team is No. 1 in NJCAA Division II. Ranked second the previous two weeks, Lady Cavaliers moved up to the top spot after North Iowa Area Community College suffered it second loss of the season last week. JCCC is 19-0 on the year.

Holding down the No. 1 spot in the country is nothing new to head coach Ben Conrad and his program. Since the 2009-10 campaign, his teams have been ranked in the top five in 57 polls, and have held the No. 1 spot 25 times. JCCC has finished the regular season as the No. 1 ranked team in each of the previous three seasons.
