Baseball – Schnurbusch selected for NJCAA National Team

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County Community College sophomore pitcher Aaron Schnurbusch today was selected to the NJCAA National Baseball Team. The 26-member team will represent the United States in the 80th National Baseball Congress (NBC) World Series in Wichita, Kan., Aug. 1-9.

Schnurbusch helped the Cavaliers to a school record 50 wins and a berth in the NJCAA World Series in 2014. On the hill, he was 12-2 in 16 starts, with 102 strikeouts and a 2.42 ERA. His 12 wins tied for second in the country, and he ranked tied for eighth nationally in strikeouts. At the plate, Schnurbusch hit at a .365 clip (66-for-181) with 18 doubles, six triples, five home runs, 55 runs scored and 63 RBI

Schnurbusch earned NJCAA third-team All-American, first-team All-Region VI and first-team All-East Jayhawk Conference as a pitcher. He also earned second-team all-conference as an outfielder

Schnurbusch will play for the Panthers at the University of Pittsburgh this fall.
