M. Soccer – Rivero selected NSCAA All-American

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County Community College freshman forward Jorge Rivero was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/Continental Junior College Division I Men’s All-America Second-Team. Rivero is just the fourth JCCC player named to the prestigious NSCAA All-America team, and third under coach Fatai Ayoade. 

A Kansas Jayhawk Conference and Region VI first-team forward in 2013, Rivero led the Cavaliers in points with 43 and goals with 18, and ranked second in assists with seven. He also was the conference’s second leading scorer, and ranked tied for 16th in the NJCAA. His 18 goals tied for 15th nationally. 

Rivero was the most decorated player in the Jayhawk Conference during the 2013 campaign. Five times he was chosen the KJCCC/Verizon Wireless Player of the Week, and twice named the NJCAA National Player of the Week.
