OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Johnson County Community College golf team roared back in the third and final round at the Kansas Jayhawk Conference Championships at Sand Creek Station to pull out a runner-up finish in the tournament. The Cavaliers fired a tournament-best 293 to finish with a 910 tournament total, six shots behind tournament champion Dodge City Community College.

Two Johnson County players placed among the top 10. Logan Henrichs had his best effort of the season in conference play, placing in a tie for fourth place with a seven over par 223 total. He opened and closed the tournament with even par rounds of 72, and posted a 79 in the second round.

Wade Hageman tied for seventh with a 229 three-round total. He had rounds of 74, 84 and 71. His final round 71 was the second lowest of the day. This was Hageman’s third top 10 finish of the season.

Parker Miller and Tristan Abts followed with scores of 235 and 240 to place 20th and 29th respectively.

Johnson County’s top player this season, Charlie Rinehart, inadvertently signed an incorrect scorecard following the first round, and had to be disqualified. He shot a 74, but signed a card that totaled 73. He followed with rounds of 73 and 74. Had he not been disqualified, Rinehart would have tied for first place.
