Baseball – Cavaliers head to World Series

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — The Johnson County Community College baseball team is headed to the NJCAA Division 1 Baseball World Series with a pair of wins over Kansas City Kansas Community College May 13 at the NJCAA Region 6 Super-Regional tournament in Wichita.

The wins give JCCC a 50-12 record headed into the national tournament, set for May 24 to 31 at Sam Suplizio Field in Grand Junction, Colorado.

JCCC topped KCKCC 8-1 in the must-win first game, then blanked the Blue Devils 2-0 in the title game that included a combined no-hitter from freshman right-hander Dalton Gulick and sophomore right-hander Conner Miller, who got the win.

Sophomore left-hander Aaron Schnurbush got the win in the first game.
