Baseball – JCCC showcase a huge success

Baseball – JCCC showcase a huge success

OVERLAND PARK, KS – The Johnson County Community College baseball staff held its annual Indoor Baseball Showcase, Jan. 25, and it was the best in the seven-year running of the event. The showcase hosted 211 high school players from seven different states and one other country (Kan., Iowa, Mo., S.D., Neb., Texas, N.D. and Canada). Forty college coaches and professional scouts were in attendance to watch the participants showcase their abilities.

The JCCC Baseball Showcase has earned a reputation as one of the best in the area, and it showed in the record numbers this year.

“The showcase provides a great opportunity for high school players to see the JCCC campus, and be seen by college coaches and professional scouts throughout the Midwest area,” said JCCC head coach Kent Shelley. “The large size of our indoor facility allows players o be evaluated in realistic distances.”
