Baseball & Softball – JCCC athletes earn weekly honors

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Two members of the nationally ranked JCCC softball team, and one from the nationally ranked baseball team, earned weekly conference honors for their play last week. Freshman Samantha Kreissler and sophomore Zoe Price were selected the KJCCC/Verizon Wireless Softball D-II Player and Pitcher of the Week for week 9, and freshman infielder Anthony Miller earned the Baseball Player of the Week award.

Kreissler had a big week at the plate for Johnson County, going 12-for-22 with three doubles, a triple and nine RBI. Price won three games in the circle, all against nationally ranked teams. She allowed no earned runs and struck out 22 batters. Their efforts helped the Lady Cavaliers go 6-0 on the week.

Miller batted .526 (10-for-19) on the week, with two doubles, two homers and eight RBI.
