W. Basketball – JCCC’s unbeaten streak reaches 12

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Johnson County Community College women’s basketball team, ranked sixth in NJCAA D-II, remained unbeaten this season at 12-0 after posting an 89-35 thumping on cross-town rival MCC-Penn Valley, Saturday afternoon. The victory also extended JCCC’s home court win streak to 43 straight games. 

Five players scored in double figures for the Lady Cavaliers. Sophomore Timeka O’Neal led the way with 16 points. She also had six rebounds, six assists and four steals. 

Sophomore Kariel Hut had a big game as well, finishing with a double-double of 14 points and 16 rebounds. She reached double-double status in the first half while helping JCCC to a 44-12 halftime advantage. 

Sophomore Juanita Robinson also poured in 14 points, and freshman Nieka Wheeler and sophomore Camille Gee followed with 13 and 11 respectively. 

Other key contributors were freshmen Kelsey Barrett (7 points, 8 rebounds) and Allison Wallisch (6 points, 8 rebounds).
