OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County Community College sophomore guard DaShawn Harden and sophomore forward Kathleen Brisbane were recently named to the 2013 WBCA Junior/Community College Coaches’ All-America team. Harden was selected to the 10-member first-team, and Brisbane garnered honorable mention honors. They are the sixth and seventh players in JCCC history to earn WBCA All-America accolades. The pair helped the Lady Cavaliers to a 30-2, a No. 1 final season ranking, and a second straight East Jayhawk Conference championship.

Harden, a transfer from the University of Oklahoma and graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas, averaged 14.3 points on 47 percent shooting, including 43 percent from 3-point range, to go with 4.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.5 steals. She ranked third in the conference in scoring, first in 3-point accuracy, first in free throw accuracy (.791), fourth in 3-point fields made (53) and fourth in steals. Harden reached double figures in 19 games this season, including five of 20 or more points. She averaged 22.5 points in the Region VI Tournament.  Harden also became the first JCCC player to be selected as the MVP of the East Jayhawk Conference.

Brisbane, formerly of Sumner Academy, ranked second on the team in scoring (10.8) and in rebounding (6.1).  She scored in double figures 17 times this season, and 21 times over her career. She shot 55 percent from the field, which ranked her third in the conference. She also finished fourth all-time at JCCC in career field goal accuracy at .538. Brisbane helped JCCC post a 62-5 record over her two seasons with the Lady Cavaliers.
