Volleyball – Seever named AVCA All-American

Preecy SeeverOVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) recently announced its All-America teams for 2013, and Johnson County Community College sophomore hitter Preecy Seever was named as a first-team performer. Seever also earned first-team NJCAA All-America honors and was named to the NJCAA National All-Tournament team after helping Johnson County to a third place finish at nationals. 

Seever ranked second on the team in total kills with 445, and led the team with an impressive .422 hitting percentage. Her 445 kills ranked her 19th in the country, and .422 hitting percentage was the fourth-best in NJCAA Division II in 2013. She also ranked 17th with a kills per set average of 3.62. Seever moved into the No. 5 spot on JCCC’s season kills chart with 445, and ranks 12th all-time with 632. 

Seever was named to the NJCAA All-Tournament team after an impressive performance in all four matches. She recorded 64 kills in the tournament, and hit over .500 in three of the four matches, including kill percentage of .667 in opening match against Hagerstown. During the first week of October, Seever was named the NJCAA National D-II Player of the Week. She was also twice selected the KJCCC/Verizon Wireless Player of the Week, earning the honors in weeks two and six. 

Seever will continue her career at Rockhurst University.
