Volleyball – JCCC moves up in poll, wins at Highland

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Johnson County Community College volleyball team learned Wednesday afternoon they moved up two spots to No. 4 in the NJCAA Coaches Poll.  They followed that up later in the evening with a 3-0 sweep at Highland Community College. JCCC won by the scores of 25-15, 25-16 and 25-19, and remained unbeaten in Jayhawk Conference play at 3-0. They stand 12-4 overall. 

Sophomore hitter Lori Angello led Johnson County, posting a double-double of 14 kills and 10 digs. She also posted an attack percentage of .400.  Sophomore Preecy Seever had a good night hitting as well, finishing with 12 kills and an attack percentage of .625. 

Freshman Alexis Hartzog and sophomore Hannah Sittig each accounted for nine digs, and sophomore Bethany Farres led the offense with 32 assists. 

Johnson County will be back in action Friday night, Sept. 20, when they host cross-town rival Kansas City Kansas Community College. The match is scheduled to start at 5 p.m.
