Softball – Price signs with Pittsburg State

Zoe Price

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County Community College sophomore pitcher Zoe Price has signed a national letter-of-intent to continue her academic and athletic careers at Pittsburg State University.

In her freshman campaign at JCCC, Price earned second-team All-Region VI/District D honors at pitcher. She was the team’s No. 1 hurler, posting a record of 20-7 with six strikeouts in 187 innings of work. Price also had 128 strikeouts. She made 37 appearances, 32 as a starter, and completed 21 games.

“My expectations for Zoe have grown tremendously over the course of the past year,” said JCCC head coach Aubree Brattin.  “She has stepped up and really earned her spot at the top of the pitching staff and was a number one pitcher by the end of last year. She pitched almost every inning in every game in postseason, and did an outstanding job stepping up and getting the job done when her teammates needed her to. She is a great competitor that pushes her teammates and brings out the best in people around her. I expect her to do good things in the circle this season, and will make a great upper classman at Pittsburg State.”

A native Pleasanton, Calif., Price was a four-year starter at Amador Valley High School. She helped the Dons finish the 2012 season 26-1 and win the East Bay Athletic League title with a perfect 14-0 record.
