Softball – Golubski signs with William Jewell

Melanie GolubskiOVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Former Johnson County Community College softball player Melanie Golubski has signed to a letter of intent to continue her education and playing career at William Jewell College. She joins a program that finished 32-15 overall and in third place in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. 

In her two seasons at JCCC, Golubski was twice selected as an NJCAA All-District performer while helping the Lady Cavaliers to a record of 78-25 (.757). She earned first-team honors following her freshman season, and second-team honors as a sophomore. She also was selected the team’s MVP her freshman season. She recorded a career batting average of .383 (108-for-282) with 18 doubles, eight triples, 10 home runs, 68 runs scored and 76 RBI. She ranks tied for ninth at JCCC in career triples, tied for 13th in career home runs and tied for 15th in career RBI. 

Last season, Golubski hit at a .375 clip (42-for-112) with eight doubles, three triples, three home runs, 25 runs and 23 RBI. As a freshman, she posted a .388 average with 66 hits, 11 doubles, five triples, team-best seven homers and 53 driven in. Her seven home runs tied for 19th on JCCC’s season chart, and her 53 RBI tied for 13th. She also ranked 16th in the NJCAA with a fielding percentage of .992.
