OVERLAND PARK, KS – Five Johnson County Community College players scored in double figures Wednesday night to lead the Cavaliers to a 65-54 road victory at Allen Community College in Iola, Kan. The win improves JCCC to 9-12 on the season, and ups their conference mark to 4-6.

Sophomore forward Myles Hibler led the Cavaliers in scoring and rebounding, registering his second double-double in three games. He finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Hibler hit 6-of-10 shots, and was nearly perfect at the line, hitting 4-of-5 charity shots.

Sophomore forward Tony Jones also recorded a double-double, finishing with 14 points and 10 boards. He was 6-of-12 from the field, including a trey, and hit one free throw. He also blocked two shots, increasing his team-leading total to 32 this season. He also moved into the ninth spot all-time with 60 career blocks.

Head coach Mike Jeffers has also been getting key production in recent games from freshman point guard Logan Henrichs. The Lawrence native finished with 15 points for a second straight game. In those two games he has shot 72 percent from the field, 71 percent from 3-point range and 83 percent from the line.

Also scoring in double figures were sophomore guard Christian Hildebrandt and freshman guard Pat Jones. Each finished with 10 points. Hildebrandt also has six rebounds, and Jones led the team with five assists.

The Cavaliers trailed by two at the break, 25-23, but turned the game around in the second half, outscoring the Red Devils 42-29.

“The first half was UGLY!” Jeffers said. “We were really good in the second half.”
