M. Basketball – Hildebrandt selected all-conference

Christian HildebrandtOVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County Community College sophomore guard Christian Hildebrandt was named to the 2013 East Jayhawk Conference second team, as announced by the conference office Saturday. The All-East Jayhawk basketball teams are voted on by the league coaches.

Hildebrandt, formerly of Park Hill South High School, led JCCC and finished fourth in the conference in scoring (17.5) this season, and led the Cavaliers with 61 3-point baskets made. He also averaged 6.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.3 steals for Johnson County.

Hildebrandt scored in double figures 26 times in 2012-13, including 14 games of 20 or more.  His career high 32-point effort against Labette was the fourth highest scoring game in conference play on the season. He reached double figures 53 times in his two seasons, and was the team’s leading score in 31 games.

Hildebrandt also became just the 11th player in JCCC history to top 1,000 career points. He finished with 1,026 points, an average of 15.3 per game. He also ranks fourth on JCCC’s career 3-point chart with 140, and sixth in career free throws with 226.
