OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County Community College volleyball player Preecy Seever, and men’s soccer player Jorge Rivero were each selected as Kansas Jayhawk Conference Players of the Week in their respective sports earlier this week. Yesterday, they added NJCAA National Player of the Week accolades. Seever was selected the NJCAA D-II Vollleyball Player of the Week, and Riever was the NJCAA D-I Men’s Soccer Player of the Week winner.

Seever helped No. 3 ranked Johnson County go 5-0 on the week by finishing with 67 kills and 17 blocks in five matches. She also finished the week with a .619 hitting percentage.

Rivero led JCCC to a pair of conference wins last week. Against Pratt on Sept. 24, Rivero played a part in four of JCCC’s five goals, scoring two and assisting on two. Three days later, he netted both of his team’s goals, the second coming in the 92nd minute to give the Cavaliers a 2-1 overtime road victory.  Rivero is the team’s leader in points (31), goals (12) and assists (7). His 31 points currently rank fifth in the NJCAA, and his 12 goals tie for ninth nationally.
