0VERLAND PARK, Kan. – For the second straight week, a player from Johnson County Community College won medalist honors at a Jayhawk Conference golf tournament. This week freshman Charlie Rinehart took center stage for the Cavaliers, tying Hugh Campbell of Dodge City for first place at Turkey Creek in McPherson, Kan.

Battling winds between 30 and 35 mile per hour, Rinehart and Campbell top the field with a seven over 147 total over 36 holes. Rinehart opened with 77, but fought back with an even par 70 in the second round.

Last week’s winner, freshman Parker Miller, fired back-to-back rounds of 76 (152) to take sole possession of eighth place.

Rounding out the Cavaliers roster were sophomore Wade Hageman (16th, 79-79=157), freshman Tristin Abts (26th, 85-76=161) and freshman Logan Henrichs (T-30th, 79-84=163).
