Golf – Five Cavaliers among top 15 at third tournament

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – All five members of the Johnson County Community College golf team finished among the top 15 at the third Kansas Jayhawk Conference tournament Monday, including three top 10 finishers. Freshmen Charlie Rinehart and Tristian Abts, and sophomore Wade Hageman placed in a tie for fourth, seventh and 10th respectively, leading the Cavaliers to a second place team finish behind Doge City Community College. Freshmen Parker Miller placed 13th and Logan Henrichs 14th. 

Rinehart fired back-to-back rounds of 76 to finish four shots back of medalist Jordan Hecker of Hutchinson. This is Rinehar’s third straight top-10 finish. 

Abts opened with an 80, but got back in contention with a second round 75. This is his first top-10 of the season. Hageman shot 76-80 to earn second top-10 finish. Miller posted a 157 (78-79) and Henrichs a 158 (82-76).
