OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County Community College sophomore guard Sameia Kendall of the women’s basketball team, and sophomore guard Pat Jones of the men’s team, were named the KJCCC/Verizon Wireless D-II Players of the Week for week three. Jones also won the honor last week. 

Kendall averaged 25.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 5.0 steals while leading the No. 3 ranked Lady Cavaliers to two home victories last week. She began the week with 22 points, four assists and six steals in a 111-43 win over Central Methodist JV. She capped the week with a career high 29 points, along with three assists and four steals in a 110-44 win over William Penn JV. Kendall also made 5-of-6 from 3-point range. 

Jones averaged 32.5 points, nailed eight treys and was 23-25 at the line for JCCC last week. He opened with a career high 33 points in a tough overtime loss to No. 4 Hutchinson, and finished with a second 30-point effort, pouring in 32 with five 3-pointers in a loss to Butler.
