OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Johnson County Community College baseball team recently unveiled their new uniforms for the upcoming 2014 season.

The Cavaliers’ four uniforms include home whites with navy lettering and gold trim, road grays with navy lettering and gold trim. The club will also wear two alternate jerseys, a navy tops with gold lettering and white trim and white pants, and a gold top with navy lettering and white trim with white pants.

Last year, JCCC changed its overall branding including the official team colors of the athletic department. The old maroon and gold jerseys would need to be phased out and replaced with the new navy and gold scheme. Some of JCCC’s athletic teams uniforms were up for replacement last year, but the baseball team had to wait one season.

“The boys all love the new uniforms and the new look,” said Hall of Fame coach Kent Shelley. “They are excited to break out the new uniforms this spring. If they play half as good as we look, we should be in for a great year. For me personally, it has been a little more difficult of a transition, having worn the maroon and gold for 28 years. It is taking me a little more time to get adjusted to the new look, but I am liking it.”

The first pitch to the 2014 season will be Thursday, Feb. 6 in Dallas against Mountain View College. The Cavaliers home opener is set for Saturday, Feb. 15 against College of DuPage.
