Baseball – Cavaliers rank third nationally in academics

OVERLAND PARK, KS – For the sixth consecutive year, the Johnson County Community College baseball program finished among the top ranked academic teams in the country. This year, JCCC ranked third nationally with a team grade point average of 3.34, both the highest marks in team history.  Previous rankings for JCCC were: 2008 (16th); 2009 (8th); 2010 (4th); 2011 (13th) and 2012 (7th). 

Individually, the JCCC baseball program had 16 individuals earn Kansas Jayhawk Conference All-Academic honors, and one player honored for academic excellence by the NJCAA. Sophomore Ross Johnson earned the NJCAA Award for Superior Academic Achievement for posting a grade point average between 3.80 to 3.99.
