Returning Alumni Music Concert
Former music students return to JCCC for public performance in May
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Students and faculty from the Music Department at Johnson County Community College will be performing with returning Music Department alumni for an entertaining evening of music.
The concert, which is free and open to the public, will take place at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, in the Carlsen Center’s Yardley Hall.
The JCCC Midnight Blues Jazz Choir, JCCC Midnight Express Jazz Ensemble and The JCCC Concert Band will be joined by former Music Department students for a special gala concert. All three ensembles will perform music from various artists including:
- George Gershwin
- Henry Mancini
- Dizzy Gillespie
- Thad Jones
- Miles Davis
- Samuel Hazo
- Andrew Boysen
The concert is directed by Ron Stinson, professor of instrumental music.
