JCCC offers gourmet lunch, fresh from the campus farm, on Sept. 18
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — Johnson County Community College will showcase produce from its campus farm in a gourmet lunch benefiting a student group on Tuesday, Sept. 18.
The meal will be served from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in room 101 of the Regnier Center at the college, 12345 College Boulevard, Overland Park.
Tickets for the event are $10 for students and $15 for non-students, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the JCCC Student Environmental Alliance. Tickets are available online or in person at the JCCC business office, room 115 of the General Education Building at the college.
The menu for the meal is:
Salad
Black pepper macerated cantaloupe and local lettuce salad with garden herb and apple vinaigrette with almond crusted goat cheese
Entree
Stuffed chicken with avocado cream, yellow pepper coulis, herb roasted butternut squash and tomato napoleon, or
Quinoa and local herb stuffed red pepper with cumin seared eggplant and gold potatoes with yellow pepper and farmer’s cheese sauce (vegetarian option)
Dessert
Cinnamon flan with berries and mint
The event is sponsored by the JCCC Student Environmental Alliance, the campus farm, dining services and the Center for Sustainability.
