OVERLAND PARK, KS – Last Saturday afternoon, Johnson County Community College head coach Ben Conrad earned his 100th win faster than any coach in school history. Wednesday night, his team reached 20 wins in a season faster than any team in school history, needing just 21 tries. The Lady Cavaliers improved to 20-1 on the year, and 9-0 in the conference, with a 64-36 home win over Allen Community College. The win also extends the team’s winning streak to 13 straight.

Sophomores Brianna Kulas and Polly Harrington paced Johnson County, each in finishing with 13 points. Harrington also was credited with nine rebounds, while Kulas added seven boards. Sophomores Ameshia Kearney and Amy Briggs each contributed eight points. Kearny also dished out five assists, and sophomore Tanchelle Hollingsworth led the team with 13 rebounds, and added five assists and four points.

The victory for the No. 1 ranked Lady Cavaliers sets up an epic battle against No. 4 Highland Community College at JCCC Gymnasium, Saturday, Feb. 4. The Lady Scotties are also 20-1, but are 8-1 in the conference, losing to the Lady Cavaliers in the conference opener last month.
