OVERLAND PARK, KS – The No. 1 ranked Johnson County Community College women’s basketball team put on a dominant performance Saturday afternoon while dismantling No. 4 Highland Community College. The Lady Cavaliers shot 50 percent from the field, 45 percent from 3-point and outrebounded the Lady Scotties by 18 boards to cruise to 44-point victory, 88-44.

Sophomores Polly Harrington, Briana Kulas and Mary Pat Specht each poured in 16 points, and guards Amy Briggs and Tanchelle Hollingsworth added 12 and 11 points respectively, to lead JCCC to its 14 straight win, and 21st overall.  Harrington also led all players on the glass, hauling down 12 rebounds.

Head coach Ben Conrad also got solid efforts off the bench from sophomore forward Kylie Cooper and freshman guard Kelsey Knox. Cooper finished with five points and eight rebounds. Knox had seven points, four boards and three assists.

The Lady Cavaliers hit the road twice this week, traveling to Kansas City Kansas Community College, Wednesday, Feb. 8, and to Fort Scott Community College, Saturday, Feb. 11.
