Baseball – JCCC baseball showcase huge success

OVERLAND PARK, KS – The Johnson County Community College baseball staff held its annual Indoor Baseball Showcase, Jan. 28, and it was a huge success. The JCCC Baseball Showcase has earned a reputation as one of the best in the area, and it showed in the record numbers this year.

The event hosted 184 players from seven different states and was scouted by 51 college coaches and professional scouts.

Not only was there a record turnout this year, the JCCC coaches said the overall talent level was better than previous showcases. Twenty-three players ran under 7.0 seconds in the 60-yard dash. Twelve players hit 80 mph or above at their position, 11 catchers were under a 2.1 pop time, and 32 pitchers threw 80 mph or better.
