Baseball – Cavaliers finish ranked nationally

OVERLAND PARK, KS – The season may have come to a premature close for the 2012 East Jayhawk Conference champion Johnson County Community College baseball team, but the program has continued to get recognized for its outstanding season.

The Cavaliers have been ranked 45th in the country by Perfect Game USA, which ranks all levels of community college baseball. This marks the fifth straight season the JCCC baseball program has been ranked nationally, which is the longest consecutive streak in team history.

Johnson County finished the 2012 season with an overall record of 40-18, which marks the program’s fourth 40-win campaign in five seasons. They also finished on top of the East Jayhawk Conference standings with a 26-10 record, one game ahead of Neosho County and Cowley. This was JCCC’s second conference title in three years, and ninth overall.
