Spring Jazz Series

JCCC announces free spring jazz series

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — The free spring Jazz Series at Johnson County Community College will showcase six premier Kansas City jazz groups at noon Tuesday, March 1-April 5, in the Recital Hall of the Carlsen Center, Johnson County Community College, except where noted.

The spring 2010 Jazz Series is:

  • March 1 – Mark Lowrey Trio with Shay Estes
  • March 8 – Killer Strayhorn
  • March 15 – David Basse and the City Light Orchestra, *Yardley Hall
  • March 22 – Dennis Winslett Quartet
  • March 29 – James Ward Trio
  • April 5 – Rob Whitsitt Quartet

The series is cosponsored by the JCCC music and theater departments, Community Services division and the Richard J. Stern Foundation for the Arts. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. For information, call 913-469-8500, ext. 3605.
