Regional community college assessment conference

JCCC hosts regional community college assessment conference

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — Johnson County Community College will host a Regional Community College Assessment Conference from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday, April 15, in JCCC’s Regnier Center classrooms and M.R. and Evelyn Hudson Auditorium, the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art. Registration and the vendor fair start at 8 a.m. in the Regnier Center lobby.

The conference is aimed at assessment leaders, including administration, faculty and staff from Kansas, Missouri, Iowa and Nebraska community colleges, for discussion about best practices, challenges and solutions related to academic outcomes assessment in community colleges.

The keynote speaker is Lynn Priddy, vice president for accreditation services, the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, one of six regional institutional accreditors in the United States.

The conference will also feature breakout sessions with participants from the region’s community colleges and World Café-format roundtables. The nine roundtables will include topics such as Using Assessment Data to Enhance the Students’ First-Year Experience, Success Stories Engaging Adjuncts, Role of Institutions Research in Assessment and Assessing the Assessment Process.

A continental breakfast, snacks and lunch will be provided. There is no registration cost, but reservations are required by April 11.
