Operating Procedure: Student Appeal of Disciplinary Action - 319.03
Purpose
It is the intent of the college to provide students with a fair and efficient process to appeal a college decision to invoke student disciplinary action taken in accordance with college policy 319.02-Student Disciplinary Action, subject to the following:
- A disciplinary action that results in a verbal or written warning to the student cannot be appealed by the student. A disciplinary action that results in probation, suspension or expulsion may be appealed by the student in accordance with procedures established by the college. The student shall be notified of this appeal right in the written notice of determination provided to the student following review of a complaint.
Procedures for Appeal of Disciplinary Action
The president of the college shall be responsible for establishing and maintaining appropriate appeal procedures to address an appeal from a student regarding a disciplinary action taken by the college pursuant to college policy 319.02-Student Disciplinary Action. (See Operating Procedure 319.03)
