Interactive media professionals make communications compelling and effective for audiences on the Internet, in broadcast media and in print.
JCCC offers an associate of applied science degree in interactive media. The recently modified 65-credit-hour program provides instruction in the design and development process for interactive media, acquiring and managing media assets (i.e., text, graphics, audio and video), the history and theory of communication forms, content management systems, screen design, coding for interactive media, interface design, and project management.
Certificates are also offered including:
- A new 39-credit-hour interactive media certificate provides instruction in the design and development process needed to deliver effective mass communications primarily via the Internet, although the development of other channels of communication is covered. Instruction includes acquiring and managing assets (text, graphics, audio and video), the history and theory of communication forms, content management systems, screen design, coding for interactive media, interface design and project management.
- The interactive media certificate can be taken in conjunction with the business plan certificate for a total of 46 credit hours. This dual offering is designed to prepare students to open their own business providing interactive media services. Students receive instruction in the design and development process needed to deliver information and media, primarily via the web. The business plan component focuses on evaluating an idea for a business and concludes with writing a business plan to start and/or grow a business. Upon completion of their studies, students receive both certificates.
