Learn nursing at JCCC

JCCC’s highly regarded nursing program leads to a rewarding and challenging career, with employment of registered nurses expected to grow faster than the average for all occupations. JCCC’s registered nurse program is fully accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission and Kansas State Board of Nursing. The faculty are well qualified and experienced in the practice and teaching of nursing.

JCCC offers an associate of applied science degree in nursing. In this 72-to-75-credit-hour program, students practice in a variety of clinical settings, including hospitals, long-term care facilities and clinics. Experiences are offered in maternal child nursing, pediatric nursing, operating room nursing, medical-surgical nursing, mental health nursing and gerontology. Program graduates may sit for the national licensing exams to become a registered nurse.

If you are already a registered nurse who has not worked in the acute health care setting for several years, JCCC’s RN refresher course will help prepare you for employment in an acute care setting.  The course provides a review of anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, pharmacology, lab values and the critical thinking skills that go into providing safe and effective patient care.

The LPN to RN bridge program provides the opportunity for licensed practical nurses to become registered nurses.
