Learn game development

At JCCC, students can prepare for careers in the game industry by earning an associate of applied science degree or one of several certificates. When you complete the program, you'll be qualified to work in entry-level industry positions as a game programmer, tool builder, collision detection developer, engine builder and interface programmer as well as a video and online training developer, Q/A (Quality Assurance) tester, customer supporter and simulations developer.

In the 69-70-credit-hour game development associate's degree program, you concentrate on the focused knowledge and understanding of game design and development, including the ability to create code for 2D/3D graphics and real-time virtual environments. Additional skills include an understanding of game ethics, the proper presentation of "game bibles" and the math and physics required to model a realistic game world.
