A fresh new look will premiere at JCCC theatres this fall.
After 26 seasons of serving Johnson County patrons, a significant renovation of Yardley Hall, Polsky Theatre, Carlsen Center lobby and backstage areas will take place during summer 2016 giving the spaces a more modern feel and a fresh new look.
The project is estimated to cost $1.6 million and will include painting, new house acoustic curtains and carpeting not only in the theatres but in the lobby and backstage areas, including six dressing rooms and the Green Room, where artists wait before going onstage for their performance.
The 1,300 seats in Yardley will be recovered; Polsky's 420 seats will remain as the rest of the theatre is freshened. The renovations are to be completed in September and will be revealed to patrons at the Oct. 9 performance of BASETRACK LIVE.
