“Blues, R&B and gospel singer-songwriter, and show-stopping boogie piano player.”

About this performance

8 p.m. on the Lawn of JCCC’s Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art

Join us for a free concert on the lawn, and end your summer with a night of great music!

Rare is the 6-year-old who finds it natural as breathing to pound out pulsating piano blues … rarer still is the musical powerhouse this native Kansas Citian grew to be. Kelley Hunt’s award-winning, righteous roots style is “soul binding.”

Her vocal chops blend with smokin’ keyboard riffs as she leads a rock-solid band from full-tilt boogie to bringing down the house with gospel greats.

In the world of bluesy, soulful music there are plenty of people known for their singing, or for their playing, but far fewer recognized for songwriting and fewer still for all three. Using the depth of her talent, Kelley takes the class through her process of writing, arranging and composing.
