'It Gets Better Project'

'It Gets Better'

8 p.m., April 22, 2017 | Yardley Hall

$21 - $35 Individual Tickets

"It gets better" provides a performing arts response to the difficult issue of bullying, and is intended to support young members of the LGBT community.

In this newest production of it gets better, stories were collected from communities across the nation, and 12 were dramatized for the stage. All performers speak the words of the real individuals they portray as well, public figures such as NBA basketball star Jason Collins. Members of the Heartland Men’s Chorus and Kansas City Women’s Chorus will join the It Gets Better cast onstage in a collaborative public performance that culminates a weeklong residency.

The project creates a safe space for critical conversations, allows connections to be developed and strengthened, provides motivation for community growth, and offers models of possibility to individuals in need of support.
