Health Occupations (CNA and Related Certifications)

Program Options

  • Certified Nurse Aide Certificate
Certified Nurse Aides (CNAs) provide daily hygiene, bedside care, vital-sign measurement, positioning and safe transfer of clients in long-term and acute-care facilities.
  • CNA Refresher
In Kansas, CNAs are required to work at least eight hours every two years for the certificate to remain active. If you are a CNA who has not worked for two years, you must complete the refresher course which meets the state requirement to reactivate your certificate.

This course is designed to prepare nurse aides specifically for the hospital setting as well as introduce pre-nursing students to basic nursing skills. It provides classroom, lab, simulation and clinical instructions for basic care of patients in acute-care facilities. (See application and instructions.)
