Faculty Opportunities

Faculty Member - International EducationAs part of its ongoing efforts to internationalize the campus and the curriculum, JCCC provides opportunities for faculty and staff to participate in international professional conferences and exchange programs that enhance their knowledge and understanding of other cultures.

Support for professional international travel is available up to an institutional maximum of $2,000. Faculty and staff may seek support from their departments and the staff development office, as well as from an international grant available through the international education office. The following tenure requirements must be met in order to be eligible for an international grant:

  • Faculty Member - International EducationFull-time faculty and staff must have completed the probationary period.
  • Adjunct faculty must have completed at least six semesters at JCCC.
  • Part-time staff must have completed at least three years of part-time employment at JCCC.

The highest priority in funding decisions will be given to opportunities that result in serious professional development; have classroom, job or curricular impact; and further institutional goals. Personal travel, while often beneficial, cannot be funded through college sources.

International grant applications are available on InfoShare. Use your JCCC username and system password to log in. You can also pick up an application from the international education office, COM 220.

Faculty who receive international grants share their experiences with the JCCC community at the monthly International Roundtable series on campus as well as through articles in the international education newsletter.
